Redwood Credit Union President/CEO Presented With “Credit Unions For Kids Leadership Award” At CO-OP’S THINK 2008

Brett Martinez Honored for Outstanding Service to Children’s Miracle Network’s Credit Unions for Kids Program

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (May 5, 2008) – CO-OP Financial Services awarded its second annual “Credit Union for Kids Leadership Award” to Brett Martinez, president/CEO of Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif. The award, which honors an individual for outstanding service to the Children’s Miracle Network Credit Unions for Kids program, was presented at the recently concluded THINK 2008 (previously known as CO-OP’s Conference & Annual Shareholders’ Meeting). Martinez, a member of the Credit Unions for Kids National Advisory Board, helped raise nearly $150,000 to support Children’s Hospital Oakland in 2007 by spearheading a direct fundraising campaign for credit unions in Oakland, as well as sponsoring the California Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction and the Northern California Golf Tournament.

“I was surprised and honored to receive this award from CO-OP because there are so many people who are doing great things to support the Credit Unions for Kids program,” said Martinez. “Every time I meet a child and family who are being helped by our fundraising efforts, I become more committed to doing what I can to help.”
